Music Teacher

Two Year Contract Commencing September 2018

The Royal Grammar School Guildford in Qatar (RGSGQ) opened in September 2016 with the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1. Based on the same principles as RGS Guildford, UK, RGSGQ quickly gained a reputation for providing outstanding education and saw enrolment increase across the School. RGSGQ currently educates girls and boys from Nursery to Year 6 on an attractive campus 10 minutes’ drive north of central Doha. Having established an excellent team of staff and outstanding facilities the School will open Year 7 and 8 in September 2018. 

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, passionate and motivated Music Teacher to join our growing team of outstanding educators at the Royal Grammar School, Guildford in Qatar. The successful candidate will join our current Music Teacher and together you will deliver the music curriculum across the School. This position could be a Head of Music role for the right candidate. 

In addition to being a capable all-round musician, responsibilities will also include running music clubs, leading Early Years and Key Stage 1, 2 and 3 singing, assisting with assemblies and co-ordinating school productions. Experience of developing a high quality music department is desirable. 

Candidates must be able to offer a second subject to our Year 7 and 8 pupils.

The successful candidate will be able to deliver Music to pupils aged 3 – 13 in a creative way in order to engage students and encourage a love of music. Knowledge and experience working with pupils for whom English is an additional language would be beneficial.

Interviews will take place via skype, and in person in Doha during December 2017 and in Guildford in January 2018.
