Network Lead for Primary English

Are you an outstanding leader of English?  Have you had substantial experience raising standards in the core subject? Have you supported colleagues to improve their practice to become outstanding practitioners in their own right?

We are looking for a Network Lead for Primary English to work with our schools to secure outstanding outcomes in English.   

As a Network Lead, you will be responsible for developing and supporting our schools’ English leaders; leading the implementation of Ark’s primary curriculum, pedagogic and assessment models; delivering training; and providing tactical and hands on support to classroom teachers to ensure our end of Key Stage targets are met.  

You will have the opportunity to work across our network of 16 primary schools and 8 all-through schools in Birmingham, Hastings, London and Portsmouth.

You will work with the Director of Primary and the Network Lead for Primary English to ensure the support offered to each school is well matched to the needs of each primary academy. You will also provide expertise to support the opening of new schools and the transition of existing schools into academy status.

Our ideal candidate will:

Be qualified to degree level and above

Be qualified to teach and work in the UK

Have experience of working as a senior leader or AST (Primary), having led and taught English across a school or range of schools in order to raise outcomes for disadvantaged students

Have experience of leading/driving teaching and learning across the primary range

Have experience of raising attainment of all pupils in a challenging classroom environment

Have experience of providing CPD to teachers

Contract: Fixed term until 31st August 2021

The Location

Based at Ark Schools’ London head office, but with significant travel between schools.  May involve overnight stays when supporting regional schools and events.

Ark's head office is currently based in Holborn, London, but we will be relocating to a new West London office (based in zone 2), by the end of 2019. The new office is close to two tube stations served by three underground lines, and an overground line. It’s in an area of London which is up and coming, with new cafes and shops popping up regularly, and the Westfield shopping centre a short walk away.

The new location in Notting Dale, will be a short walk from Shepherds Bush (Central Line and Overground) and Latimer Road and Wood Lane (Hammersmith and City and Circle Line).
