Dar Al Marefa is an IB World School offering a bilingual education in English and Arabic. Our curriculum reflects our respect for local and regional cultures while preparing our students for an increasingly complex and interconnected world. Our teaching staff from 17 different nationalities provide a world-class education to our student body from over 35 countries.

In 2019, we will move to a new state of the art campus we have developed alongside Pritzker Price award winning architects with the aim of creating a healthy and enjoyable learning environment for our students, teachers and wider community. The new campus will cater to 300 students across the 3 programs of PYP, MYP and DP.

The role:

The Head of Primary must be an adaptable and innovative leader, who consults on and establishes a professional direction for their particular responsibility areas; viewed as a genuine ambassador for their subject and the School.

They will be a visionary leader, a passionate educator and a committed team player who demonstrates a collegiate and collaborative approach to working with others.

They will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with all of the school’s stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Minimum BA essential; Master’s Degree advantageous;
  • Fully qualified Teacher with recent experience as a Deputy Head or Head of Primary leading a high performing team; ideally within IB DP or English National curriculum environment;
  • Demonstrated successful leadership, organization and management skills;
  • Proven effective communication, public relations and collaborative skills;
  • Professional commitment to the successful implementation of an enriched international curriculum;
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to contribute to the general welfare of the School;
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal & written; highly organised; refined interpersonal skills;
  • Fluency in Arabic is advantageous but not essential.

In 2019, we moved to a new ‘state of the art’ campus, designed in partnership with Pritzker Prize Award winning Spanish architects RCR Arquitectes. Together we have envisaged and created a healthy and dynamic learning environment for students, teachers and wider community. The new campus will cater for 2000 students across the 3 programs of PYP, MYP and DP.
