Job overview

The British Primary School of Wilanow (BSW) is seeking to appoint an exceptional Nursery Teacher to join a forward-thinking, dynamic team in Warsaw's fastest growing British International school. This position is for a January 2019 start.

The School

The British Primary School of Wilanow offers a strong British education, founded in the National Curriculum for England and enhanced to meet the requirements of the Polish Education Ministry. It is located in the upscale Warsaw suburb of Wilanow, where old meets new and city meets country. The historical Royal Wilanow overlooks new, stylish cafes and shops as well as leafy green fields and woods.

The Primary School opened in Autumn 2014, in purpose-built accommodation on a charming greenfield site, with a handful of Nursery-age children. Numbers have grown increasingly since then and the school now has 170 pupils on roll and there are waiting lists in most year groups. To accommodate the expansion and predicted growth BSW intends to open a second Reception and Nursery class in January 2019.

Construction will be completed on an extension to the Primary School for November 2018 and work begins shortly on an extensive sports field development.

We are strongly committed to the highest standards of education and have already hosted an Advisory Visit from the ISI Consultancy. BSW is also the first school in Poland to successfully complete the COBIS compliance inspection, and is a fully accredited member of this organisation.

The Role

Due to expansion, we are looking for British-qualified and experienced teachers for our Early Years Foundation Stage unit, from January 2019. Our teachers have formed a strong team, demonstrating flexibility, creativity and flair; we need new members who are every bit as willing to play a full part in helping to develop the ethos, character and structures of an ambitious, values-based school. We have a clear philosophy of education centred on our Walk of the Lion which values Respect, Courage, Cooperation, Consideration and Noble.

Our teachers are hard working and passionate about education. They set high expectations with regards to the progress of all pupil and are effective and supportive members of the whole school team. At BSW teachers endeavour to place the school values at the heart of everything we do.

BSW has a rich programme of outdoor learning and sports and our teachers play a full part in the cultural, educational and extra-curricular life of the school.

The Candidate

We are seeking applicants with UK teaching qualifications (PGCE or B.Ed.) and experience of working with the English National curriculum in the UK or in an international setting. EU nationals do not currently require a work visa for Poland

The successful candidate will be dedicated to educational excellence, creative, energetic, flexible and genuinely respectful of students, staff, parents and the wider community. Recent EYFS experience is essential.

We offer

Highly-motivated, engaged and very well-behaved children

Excellent teaching team

Maximum class sizes of 22 (18 within the EYFS)

Well-resourced classrooms

On-going CPD and INSET to support innovative practice

An attractive package

The package includes

About British Primary School of Wilanow

Warsaw's British Primary School of Wilanow (BSW) is a young and ambitious school with a simple aim: to provide children with an outstanding educational experience.

BSW is a Compliant Member of COBIS and is the first School in Poland to successfully complete this accreditation. The School is an independent organisation, not a part of any group of schools.

BSW follows the Cambridge Primary Programme. Every class from Reception has a British-qualified Class Teacher and a Support Teacher attached.

The school is in its sixth year of operation and currently goes from Nursery to Year 8. From September 2020, there will be classes through to Year 9.

BSW is situated in a brand-new, purpose-built facility in the upscale Warsaw suburb of Wilanow, with fashionable cafes and restaurants on one side, rolling fields on the other. The school is in the middle of an ambitious construction plan to support its relentless expansion.

Warsaw is a charming, safe European capital city which continues to benefit from economic growth and membership of the EU.

The cost of living is surprisingly low and the infrastructure very well-developed.
