An exciting opportunity has arisen at our outstanding special school for an occupational therapist specialising in autism and the Sensory Integration Therapy (Ayres).

Russet House School is looking to appoint an Occupational Therapist on a permanent contract to work individually with pupils and also to train school staff in the delivery of sensory based strategies for use in the classroom and in our sensory gym. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside teaching and support staff, speech and language therapists and colleagues from health and social care, with the aim for all pupils to achieve their potential.

Sensory Integration training/ willingness to undertake the training is essential (modules 1-3). Course funding can be discussed at interview for applicants who are not yet trained in this area.

We offer the ideal environment for supporting the development of your skills as an advanced SI practitioner (to module 4). Supervision available.

The school is very fortunate to have a purpose built specialist sensory gym, supported by excellent facilities throughout the school. Private hire of the room outside school hours is negotiable for the successful candidate.
