Outside School Hours Care Educator

Casual position for 2020

Applications are invited from highly motivated individuals for our OSHC service in Coffs Harbour, Toormina  and Murwillumabah NSW. Working as part of a collaborative team, we are seeking people who are flexible, creative and enjoy working with primary school age children. Available hours are before and after school care and vacation care.

You will need to be familiar with the ACECQA National Quality Framework to be successful in this role

 Selection Criteria to address in your application:

  • Ability to implement a quality OSHC program that enhances the interests of all children
  • Skills in developing positive relationships with children, parents, caregivers and other key stakeholders
  • An understanding of the requirements of The National Quality Framework and The Framework for School Hours Care – My Time, Our Place
  • The ability to ensure a child safe environment and mandatory reporting under Child Protection legislation in NSW
  • The ability to work within the Mission, Vision and Values of the Catholic Primary School, Parish and Catholic Schools Office
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check
  • ACECQA and NSW approved Child Protection and First Aid Certificates, or willingness to obtain.
  • Relevant skills, experience and qualifications, or studying towards, for working within OSHC.

About St Augustine’s Primary School COFFS HARBOUR

Catering for students aged five to 12, St Augustine's Primary School looks to provide a holistic education for the children of Coffs Harbour, New South Wales. The school is part of St Augustine’s Parish Coffs Harbour and is a member of the Lismore Diocese School system. St Augustine’s School has a student enrolment of over 680 children in seven cohort groups.

St Augustine's Primary School boasts a state of the art library (known as the LARC – Library and Resource Centre), administration building and three new learning centres. Each classroom has a number of internet connected computers with all cohorts having a minimum of 20 computers and notebooks for daily use. Every classroom has an interactive whiteboard. The school has digital cameras, iPads, wireless keyboards and other relevant technological devices.

Curriculum

The school strictly adheres to covering the key learning areas outlined in the Primary Catholic School Curriculum in New South Wales. Students can expect comprehensive education in the areas of religious education, English, mathematics, science and technology, human society and its environment, creative arts and, personal development, health and physical education. The school's extra-curricular opportunities include school choir, gardening club, a Mission program, Primary Research Competition, school socials, a chess club and visits by cultural groups.
