on a Fixed-Term Contract from September 2022 to 31st August 2023

working 5 mornings per week, 9am-12.30pm

DEMAT and Ely St Mary’s C of E Junior School are looking to appoint an inspirational and dedicated Teacher to deliver high quality reading, writing and maths lessons to our children. Having achieved a Good grading at our last Ofsted inspection, we are looking for someone with the drive and ambition to work with us as we continue to develop excellent and effective educational provision and outcomes for the pupils we teach.

Ely St Mary’s C of E Junior school is a superbly-resourced, inclusive junior school located in the rapidly-expanding cathedral city of Ely, near Cambridge; it is a member of the Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust (DEMAT). Our knowledge-led curriculum, which promotes vocabulary development and knowledge retention, ensures we support all children, of all faiths and none, to be the best that they can be, instilling high expectations, the passion, perseverance and stamina to succeed. Our friendly and committed staff enjoy working in partnership with all our children and their parents, providing children with whatever support they need to achieve their potential.

We are looking for an individual who:

  • has the drive and commitment to facilitate the best progress and attainment for every child;
  • can demonstrate proven experience of being a highly effective teacher;
  • demonstrates through their teaching, a passion for children’s learning, children’s literature and has high expectations for outcomes;
  • feels confident in using questioning, assessment and feedback to inform teaching and planning;
  • respects the holistic nature of every child’s education, and will nurture the talents of each individual;
  • understands and supports a therapeutic approach to behaviour management;
  • can maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, pupils and governors within the school community;
  • has an excellent command of written and spoken English.
