Together the Group forms a Sixth Form, Skills and Technology Centre, University Centre, employer training and adult learning provider delivering exceptional teaching and learning to all ages and at all levels. 

The Exciting Role 

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Health, Sociology & Psychology Lecturer to join our dedicated HE team on a part-time hourly paid basis.  The successful candidate will be primarily based at Accrington and Rossendale College but may be required to travel across sites.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Teach on Access to HE Diploma and Higher Education courses delivering effective learning for students in a subject area (Sociology/Psychology/Health).

• To plan and prepare a high-quality learning experience, including for delivery online, as required. To plan and prepare a high-quality learning experience, including for delivery online, as required.

• Ensure provision is aligned with best practice as set out in QAA guidelines. If involved with Access to HE delivery (FE) a sound understanding of Ofsted criteria is necessary. 

• Be responsible for the appropriate administration of exam entries for the subject and liaise with the HEPL and the HE Office/Registry, external examiners and partner awarding bodies, as appropriate.

What We Are Looking For:

• Successful teaching experience in a relevant subject area

• Degree in a relevant subject area

• A higher degree (MA/MSc/Mphil) or PhD or willingness to pursue

• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent)

• A Professional Qualification in a relevant subject area

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
