Job overview

The Roche School wishes to appoint a specialist Coach in both Rugby and Cricket. Alongside your specialism you will also teach in a wide range of sports throughout the year as part of our Games programme.

Successful candidates will play a key role as part of the Sports Department, and bring a genuine desire to encourage, nurture and enthuse pupils through their passion for Sport. You don’t need to be a qualified teacher but having a level 2 in a specific sport will help.

About The Roche School

The Roche School is a mixed, independent, non-denominational primary school in Wandsworth, south-west London. It provides education for students aged two to eleven and has approximately 280 pupils enrolled.

The Roche School was founded in 1983 and still adheres to the aim of "thorough teaching in a homely atmosphere". It moved to Wandsworth in 1988 and now has three separately registered nursery settings: one is located at the main school site and two others are sited in Frogmore and East Putney.

Headmistress

Vania Adams BA MA PGCE

Vision and values

The Roche Approach is based on kindness and respect, as the creative and social development of students thrives in that kind of environment. Teachers aim to foster confidence, compassion, resilience and intelligence. They want to provide an education for children of all abilities and talents.

The curriculum places an emphasis on citizenship, PSHE, art, music and philosophy. The school specialises in problem solving, philosophical enquiry, open questions and self-evaluation. Teachers use a question wall, which offers pupils the opportunity to challenge their thinking. The school organises external competitions with other local schools, such as maths challenges, robotic contests and debating.

The Good Schools Guide

“We simply wish that schools like this, where children hug the headmistress and the more academic move on to starry academic senior schools, had been around when we were young.”
