Job overview
Fixed Term (2 years) in the first instance.
Urmston Grammar is a high performing co-educational 11 - 18 selective school, judged OUTSTANDING in our last OFSTED inspection. We are a specialist Science College and gained academy status in September 2010.
We require an enthusiastic and committed part-time Teacher of Music for September 2019.
This post provides an exciting opportunity to work with highly motivated students and a successful team who encourage GCSE uptake and a wide range of extra-curricular activities and musical events.
Applications are welcome from both experienced teachers and NQTs, and the successful candidate will be supported fully in their career and professional development.
The current music teaching requirement is 0.6, but there will be the option to teach peripatetic lessons to students in addition, dependent on the candidate’s instrument/s. Instrumental lessons are arranged privately between parents and staff but facilitated through the school. Rates are competitive.
This position is therefore suitable for a candidate who simply wants a part-time role, or a candidate who wishes to work full-time, but broaden their professional skill-set by teaching peripatetic lessons alongside classroom teaching.
Closing date for applications: 12:00 noon Friday 22nd February 2019.
Interviews will be held: w/b Monday 25th February 2019.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The post will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
