Job overview

NO AGENCIES PLEASE.

These are exciting times for the ICT team at The Howard Partnership Trust. We have been implementing a new ICT strategy which gives a clear direction of travel for the next five years. To enable us to deliver an ICT service to be proud of, we are looking for an ICT Service Desk Engineer to join our support team.

This role is a part-time role based at our Howard of Effingham school working 28.3 hours week, Monday-Friday: 9:00am - 3:00pm (includes 20 minutes unpaid Lunch), 40 weeks (term-time plus 1 week).

Enterprise grade technology, practices and frameworks are being introduced as we change to a shared services model with a centralised Infrastructure Team and local support teams for our schools. With two datacentres we have standardise our offering across our schools (currently nine and growing) and are embracing cloud technology, particularly Microsoft Office 365.

This is a new role within the Partnership and an area that is highly likely to develop over time. Reporting to and working with the ICT Support Team Leaders this is a new key position designed to change the IT experience our staff and students have within our schools. This is a natural development as we centralise our ICT infrastructure, migrating schools into the new single Trust domain and implementing ICT in new school builds, including a new building for our lead school with approximately 2,000 student capacity.

You may be a ICT Technician, System Administrator or Helpdesk Administrator seeking a rewarding role within the Education sector. To be successful you will need to be resilient, enthusiastic and driven in order to help transform our service. Along with hands-on experience of Administering Active Directory user accounts, groups and distribution lists on Windows Server, we are looking for an extremely organised and assertive individual to be our first point of contact for issues and problems, escalating where necessary to our Support Engineers based throughout the schools.

THPT can offer:

  • An opportunity to be part of a dynamic and developing organisation
  • Excellent benefit package to include Cycle to Work, Sainsbury’s Loyalty Discount and access to discount schemes
  • Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Rewards and Benefits Scheme that includes Loyalty and Service Awards

Interviews may take place prior to the closing date by mutual agreement.

Employment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

The Howard Partnership Trust is school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We all share the same goal at The Howard, to bring out the best in our young people.  As a result, students achieve highly and make very good progress.  Our teaching staff are highly qualified and all are graduates or teachers with specialist qualifications in their respective subject areas. The Headteacher is supported by a team of senior leaders and curriculum areas are led by Heads of Faculty and Subject Leaders.  Year Leaders and Year Managers lead the year teams and are responsible for students’ pastoral care. The school is also very well-supported by highly capable and professional support staff in both student-facing and administration roles. Staff development is an important and ongoing priority, and significant investment is put into staff training.
