Values and vision

The Hartford Church of England School’s motto is: “Caritas et Veritas”, which means “love and truth. It is drawn from the writing of the apostle John in the New Testament.

The passages in question state: “God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” “It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in truth, just as God commanded us”.

Among the school’s mission statement values are: believing that there is no limit to what we can achieve; creating a challenging, supportive and inclusive learning environment; celebrating and taking pride in success; and preparing students to be fit for the world.

Ofsted

“The headteacher, senior and middle leaders and governors share high expectations and an unswerving commitment to ensure that every student achieves their goals, whatever their circumstances. As a result, improvement over time is strong and this has accelerated with the school’s new voluntary aided status.”

“Students’ achievement is good. Students are making good and sometimes outstanding progress and now reach standards that are well-above national averages. GCSE results in many subjects have steadily improved with many students gaining A* and A grades.”
