We are looking to appoint a Pastoral Manager to work within our Student Support Team to support the academy’s aims through the development of a student focused Pastoral & Welfare support system.  The successful candidate will liaise with parent/carers to keep them informed regarding any disciplinary issues relating to their child’s behaviour and keep all records updated, liaise with outside agencies as appropriate and after consultation with the Head of Year and to assist with the preparation of reports and records of meetings and to attend where appropriate e.g. return from exclusion interviews, attendance and family meetings etc.  

Candidates will hold appropriate academic qualifications to at least GCSE standard, or be able to demonstrate competency through proven experience in a similar role.  Candidates must be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the work of a school and be well-organised and capable of working on their own initiative to a high level of accuracy and presentation.

Hartsdown forms part of EKLA (East Kent Learning Alliance) from which we achieved Teaching School Status and we hold regular training sessions both within our own academy as well as across Kent sharing good practice, this is certainly seen with our ‘Open Door Policy’ which is evident when you walk around our academy of the good learning and practice which is taking place.  Hartsdown is also part of the Coastal Academies Trust (CAT) which is is a group of schools in the Thanet area that have joined together as a company to provide an excellent education for young people in this area.
