Rutlish is a very successful, oversubscribed comprehensive school located in the leafy suburbs of Wimbledon. In April 2017, Ofsted rated Rutlish as “outstanding” and in 2019 Rutlish was ranked as the top non-selective State funded boys’ school in England, based on the progress students made between KS2 and KS4. In addition, our Sixth Form students were ranked in the top twenty for non-selective State funded boys’ schools in England.
Our thriving PE Department requires a dedicated Teacher, with a strong commitment to competitive extra-curricular sport, to teach across the range of sports and physical activities.
If you have a commitment to achieving high standards and would like to join our dynamic PE Department then we look forward to receiving your application.
This post has arisen with the view to expanding the department so that a full enrichment and extra-curricular programme can be offered alongside the PE core curriculum and examination classes.

Ms Laura Howarth
Values and vision
Rutlish School aims to create an environment where boys and staff behave responsibly and contribute fully as they develop a clear sense of belonging to the school community. The secondary school is committed to educating the whole person and helping its pupils to understand the importance of responsibility, compassion, competition, fairness and honesty in all that they do.
Teaching students the skills of self-discipline, co-operation, respect and tolerance is seen as essential, as without these skills it is believed that academic objectives cannot be reached.
Ofsted report
“The boys are proud to be members of the school; they feel safe and their behaviour is considerate and courteous. Internal and external exclusions have fallen rapidly as a result of consistent policies and careful monitoring. The headteacher and senior leaders, including governors, have been successful in their relentless focus on improving teaching and raising achievement. Staff morale is high and parents and carers express confidence in the leadership and management of the school. The curriculum and students’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development are strengths.”
