About Nord Anglia School Beijing, Fang Shan (NAS Beijing)

Nord Anglia School Beijing, Fang Shan (NAS Beijing), offers students a creative, challenging and rewarding learning experience.

Opening in September 2019, NAS Beijing bilingual school will provide a state of the art, world-class teaching and learning environment with total student capacity of 1728. Providing a unique blended learning experience, NAS Beijing will offer students the best of eastern and western education resources and philosophies for students aged 6-18. The bilingual programme will be based on the Chinese K-12 curriculum blended with globally respected international teaching pedagogy and education resources. Located in the Fang Shan District of Beijing, the school has world class facilities that complement our innovative approach.

About the role

Join our fast-paced international environment, and you will deliver national and International Curriculums including the IMYC and International Baccalaureate programmes. You will challenge your students to set ambitious targets for themselves and seek out and implement innovative teaching practices to enhance the student experience and outcomes.

Sport is a key part of our curriculum and community here at NAS Beijing.  Pupils from across both the primary and secondary campus will experience ECAs beyond the school day in a range of sports, including athletics, football, netball, basketball, volleyball, rugby, swimming and tennis.  Collectively, our students will compete in Beijing leagues, as well as in tournaments within China and South East Asia.  As a member of the Nord Anglia Education family of schools, there are many opportunities to participate in regional games held at our own and sister schools.

About you

As a qualified teacher you will be a fluent English speaker, familiar with the International curriculum and confident working with students from diverse cultural and language backgrounds. You will be an excellent communicator and confident with technology; someone who gets on well with colleagues, students and parents. Amongst other things, you’ll be well organised, have a good sense of humour and will want to participate fully in the extra-curricular aspects of school life as well as the classroom.

Able to create a sporting culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved, you will have a degree in your specialist subject, a teaching qualification plus considerable teaching experience and knowledge of the curriculum. Receptive to feedback and ready to embrace change, you will be keen to share best practice with colleagues and peers.

A strong ambassador for the school, you will be able to develop new ways to engage students and parents with the wider school and Nord Anglia Education community. Your strong motivation and communication skills will also enable you to create a feeling of energy, excitement and personal investment within the classroom.

You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions of living and working in China.

Selection Process

The closing date for application is Friday 14 December. First stage interviews will be conducted by Skype or telephone and final interviews will take place at the Nord Anglia Education Recruitment Event in central London in the week commencing 21st January 2019 (alternative arrangements will be made for candidates who cannot attend in person).
