Palmer’s College is a successful and independent sixth form College in Thurrock, providing excellence in education for over 1600 students aged 16-19 years. We pride ourselves on maintaining a high quality workforce to help our students reach their full potential.  

Permanent, term time plus 5 days (37 hours 5 days per week) 

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and passionate member of staff who are keen to improve the academic and personal experience for students.

We are looking for a highly motivated graduate with a strong desire to improve the life chances of Palmer’s students. Therefore a determination to help all of them to reach their goal is a pre-requisite for this role.

As a successful Personal Progress Tutor, you will provide high quality support to maximise the progress and achievement of each student and have the confidence to lead a tutorial session with a group of students. 

Personal Progress Tutors are responsible for approx 10 tutor groups and follow a one hour structured tutorial programme with each group.  The tutorial programme will consist of pre-prepared materials that aim to increase self-esteem, personal development covering activities such as settling, E safety and careers education.

Personal Progress Tutors will need to be organised, flexible, resilient and positive people who want to make a difference to the life chances of their students.

The college was formed in 2017 as a result of a merger between Palmers College (Grays) and Seevic College (Benfleet) and the last 12 months has been a period of very positive change, growth and investment.
