Job Purpose

We are looking for an outstanding Teacher of Physical Education to work within Stoke Damerel Community College PE department, and with our feeder primary schools. The PE team offers outstanding provision to our students aged 11 to 19 with engaging lessons and a significant extra-curricular PE offer. In the first instance, this is a fixed term role for twelve months.

We are looking for an effective and enthusiastic teacher who will be able to complement our dedicated team. The successful candidate will ideally have experience across the key stages and a passion for inspiring pupils and raising standards of student attainment. We are looking for a strong communicator with proven strengths in engaging with, inspiring and motivating, not just the school community, but the wider community. You should hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Deliver high quality PE lessons and CPD within our primary feeder schools.

Teach core PE to girls and boys across the ability range at Stoke Damerel.

Contribute to enrichment activities within the school, potentially in a team, individual or non traditional sport.
