The recent growth of the Dulwich family of schools into Myanmar represents a unique opportunity for teachers to be involved in the development of a newly built and resourced school in the heart of one of Asia’s most fascinating cities. In partnership with Dulwich College and its nine sister schools in Asia, Dulwich College Yangon (DCY) upholds the traditions and outstanding educational standards which have become the hallmark of the Dulwich name in the U.K. and Asia. In 2017, Dulwich College International students achieved an IB average of 37.2 and A* / A average of 69% in the IGCSEs.
The College currently operates across two campuses, Star City and its sister campus, Pun Hlaing.
Applications are invited from practitioners who are committed to further developing the P.E. curriculum and extra-curricular sports programme in a vibrant learning environment. The post will initially involve teaching throughout the Primary School and KS3 at the Pun Hlaing campus, which will educate students up to Year 9 level as of August 2018. Sporting facilities at the campus are excellent, with two large undercover Multi Use Games Areas (MUGAs), a full size football/rugby pitch and indoor air conditioned areas. Further phases will include a fully equipped gymnasium, 25 meter swimming pool, and 2 world class tennis courts.
Candidates should be highly resourceful, collegially minded and forward-thinking professionals who are actively aware of the latest developments in education, so that they can provide the best learning opportunities for the students. Applications from team sports specialists, and candidates who have played core sports to a high level are encouraged to apply.
At least 2 years teaching experience is required in the U.K. or overseas, regardless of nationality. All applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, or a first degree plus a post-graduate qualification in education (i.e. PGCE).
