Job overview

Moordown St John's CE Primary School is seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to provide teaching and learning support (including some personal care) for a pupil with global developmental delay.   The post is initially offered as a fixed term contract from 29 October 2018 - 31 August 2019.  The successful applicant will work 20 hours per week (mornings plus half an hour at lunchtime).

We are looking for a self-motivated, caring and committed person to work alongside talented staff and contribute to the ethos of this friendly and popular school.    The successful applicant will have a proven track record of working with children with learning difficulties and:

 • be able to support and promote an excellent desire for learning, adapting to individual needs and following behaviour plans

 • be able to support and promote an excellent spiritual and reflective learning ethos

 • be creative and flexible in the way he/she works 

• have a sense of humour 

• be committed to his/her own professional development and participate fully in the life of the school and community
