We are seeking an experienced teacher colleague to be the Lead for our PPG students taking responsibility for championing all aspects of PPG provision and achievement. PPG students represent over 30% of our student population and are a key focus for our whole school development work. Candidates will need to be able to provide a good quality of classroom teaching in their chosen specialism, (particularly able to offer Maths, Science, Technology (Food) or IT/Computer Science), and to be able to model a range of pedagogy to promote rapid progress for students who may be disadvantaged or at risk of underachieving. The successful candidate would have opportunities to lead staff training, contribute to middle and senior leadership meetings and report to governors.
This post is to start in September 2019 (or as soon as possible). The Governors will make an additional recruitment payment to appointed teachers who apply direct to the school (i.e. not through an agency/third party).
At St Mary’s there is a high priority for staff wellbeing and provision of resources to support middle leaders to promote high quality support for their team whilst also promoting personal professional development. Governors provide increased non contact time, IT systems based resources including a laptop and dedicated time for team planning.
Applicants are welcome to visit the school and/or to request an informal conversation with the Head Teacher/Deputy Head Teacher with responsibility for teaching and learning. To do this please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note that safeguarding students of the School is a priority. All appointments to posts in the School are made through stringent adherence to the requirements of ‘Keeping Children safe in Education’. As there is a high degree of contact with children an enhanced disclosure will be sought for this post through the Criminal Records Bureau as part of pre-employment checks.
