Oakwood School has the following Support Staff vacancy:-

Premises Assistant 11:00-19:00

36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 52 weeks per year

Surrey Pay Grade S5

Salary range £24,977 - £26,886  

We are an expanding secondary school and are looking to recruit a reliable, highly motivated and appropriately skilled Premises Assistant to join our site team.  

You will need to be trustworthy, flexible, take pride in your work and be able to work with all members of the school community. You will work under the direction of the Premises Manager, with responsibilities for caretaking of the school site to ensure safety, security and sound condition of the buildings, facilities and grounds. Occasional out of hours and weekend work will be required.

The ideal candidate will have a good standard of education and possess a good understanding of building maintenance, decorating and general caretaking. This is a varied and energetic role and duties will include but not limited too:-

·        Security of the site including opening and closing the school as appropriate

·        Maintenance and repairs, decorating, grounds work, event set up

·        Managing contractors on site when required

·        House small projects under the direction of the Premises Manager

·        Operation of school vehicles

·        Caretaking duties

Horley is a small town close to Gatwick Airport with very good transport links for the A23 and the mainline rail to London. We are also in easy reach of Brighton (about 40 minutes) and the M25 is about 20 minutes away (if the traffic is clear). Horley is currently undergoing a regeneration project as approximately 2,000 houses are due to be built here over the next three years which will offer the opportunity for further improvement in the educational vision for our children.
