About Angel Oak Academy
Our children make Angel Oak a great place to work. But the excellent CPD and unrivalled benefits will make you smile too.
Angel Oak Academy, in the heart of North Peckham, is a forward-thinking, innovative school. A two-form entry primary school, we have three teachers for each year group so we get to know every child really well and help them to make rapid progress in their learning.
Diverse community
Peckham is a diverse, vibrant area of south London that’s seen significant regeneration over recent years. Our families represent many different nationalities – we celebrate this diversity through school activities and have strong links with the local community.
How we work
As a STEP academy, our values – Passion, Urgency, Positivity, Aspiration and Commitment – are at the heart of everything we do. We aim for depth rather than breadth of learning and through this approach transform the lives of our pupils.
We value our teachers as our key resource and place huge importance on staff development. In fact, the majority of our teachers are currently on fully funded MA programmes. Work with us and you will have excellent CPD as well as the professional advantages of being part of STEP academies group.
A UNICEF Rights Respecting School
We provide an environment where pupils feel safe, valuable and respected. We are a Rights Respecting School and create many opportunities for children to take leading roles throughout the school. Meaning Angel Oak pupils become very confident and self-assured individuals.
STEP Academy Trust
We know that it is the exceptional quality of our staff that is key to our success. That’s why we’ll invest in your career and give you an unrivalled benefits package.
We are a growing family of primary academies that strive together for excellence. So we spread best practice, transfer staff to support partner academies, share specialist knowledge and consistently challenge the status quo. Giving you every opportunity to grow and develop in your role.
