Job overview
We are looking to appoint a Primary Consultant to join Harris Garrard Academy and work with the other primary phases of our All Through academies within the Federation. This is a brand new and exciting opportunity that would suit an experienced teacher, or phase leader, who has gained experience across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. As a specialist consultant for all through education you will work with three Harris Academies across the Federation: Harris Garrard Academy, Chobham Academy and Harris Academy Tottenham. The base site for the role will be Harris Garrard Academy, but you will be expected to work with and travel to Harris Academy Tottenham and Chobham Academy on a regular basis. It is important that applicants are willing and committed to travel as and when required in this role.
Your opportunity
Working alongside the Federations Senior Executive Principal responsible for Primary Education within our All Through Academies, the role will involve class based teaching time at all three of the all through academies, as well as coaching and mentoring, modelling best practice and developing CPD opportunities. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced middle leader who is currently leading a phase or a subject, and would like to further develop their experience to impact on the quality of teaching across a cluster of academies. For those experienced and interested in SEN, we also offer the opportunity to support our network of SEND/Inclusion leaders.
What we are looking for:
We are interested to hear from experienced teachers and middle leaders who have built a successful track record and have experience on Reception/EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
- QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
- A successful track record in teaching EYFS, KS1 or KS2
About All Through Education at Harris
Harris Garrard Academy is an all-through 3–18 academy with approximately 1350 pupils on roll and joined the Harris Federation as a sponsored academy in September 2017. The academy is based in Thamesmead in a purpose built building. We are now on a journey towards “Outstanding”, led by highly experienced executive principals with proven track records of school transformation. Our vision is clear: nothing is impossible and everything is possible, irrespective of personal characteristics or background. Every problem has a solution. We believe we are more robust, resilient and determined as a team than as a group of individuals. We support, challenge and hold each other to account at all levels within the academy to ensure that our students achieve their potential, are motivated, engaged and fully prepared for life beyond our academy.
Chobham Academy opened in September 2013 as part of the Harris Federation. Our 3-18 academy is a world class educational legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Situated within the East Village complex, the academy serves the community newly established in 2,800 new homes, along with existing communities in Newham and Waltham Forest. Chobham Academy is judged "Outstanding" in every category by Ofsted.
Harris Academy Tottenham opened in September 2014 as a 3-18 Academy and was judged by Ofsted as 'Outstanding' in 2017. As an all-through Academy, we have created a community which encourages parents to be at the centre of their children’s education. As part of our specialism in Mathematics, we work with specialist leaders in education and some of the UK’s top universities to focus on developing pupils’ mathematical skills.
