Aldar Academies are currently seeking an inspirational school leader to be our Primary Assistant Principal responsible for Academic Achievement and Community Development at Al Mamoura Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing in the 2021-2022 academic year.

Al Mamoura Academy consists of a Lower School, Middle School and Senior School. Al Mamoura Academy is co-educational from Nursery to Year 6 and girls only from Year 7 and above and it is located in a state of the art building. Al Mamoura Academy is a successful school with a vision to create “An innovative learning community, where we nurture our learners through Collaboration, Leadership and Creativity”. This vision is supported by the Learner and Teacher DNA which is at the heart of the school community.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the highly successful Aldar family of schools and to help shape the future of Abu Dhabi’s leading school group.  The post holder will provide strategic direction and leadership of the Lower School.

The successful candidate will combine an excellent track record of successful leadership experience, developed in the UK or internationally. They will possess strong inter-personal skills and cultural awareness with the ability to inspire the Al Mamoura community and manage the demands and needs of all stakeholders. Exceptional communication skills combined with being a visible leader and ambassador for the school are central to this role.  The role requires strategic thinking with a firm grasp of how to ensure outstanding teaching and learning across the school. Candidates must be committed to working in partnership as a through school, with the local community and developing ways to engage with parents and forge effective partnerships with them.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific Responsibilities:


Student Achievement

• To keep abreast of educational developments and how they relate to teaching and learning and academic achievement

• To promote above expected standards of attainment and progress

• To monitor, evaluate and review all aspects of school provision

• To further develop and enhance whole school assessment processes to provide robust and rigorous data

• To be highly skilled in the collection and analysis of data

• To have a commitment to using data to influence interventions, the curriculum and teaching and learning, and monitor their impact

• To lead internal and external moderation across the Lower School

• To contribute to the SEF and School Improvement Plan linked to raising student achievements


Community Development

• To promote student leadership opportunities throughout the school

• To develop the #OURMAMOURA community through opportunities for stakeholder voice

• To develop opportunities for parental engagement

• To have a commitment to the professional development of all members of staff including Teaching Assistants

• To promote a positive ethos throughout the school through leading on wellbeing initiatives for staff and students

• To promote the school through innovative and engaging marketing events

• To lead on student enrolment and admissions

• To have a passion for education and the potential of every student


General Responsibilities

• To be an active member of the school’s Executive Leadership Team and other staff teams as appropriate

• To contribute to the development of policy and planning for the Academy and to monitor the implementation of relevant policies

• To assist the CEO/Primary Principal in shaping the direction of the Academy and setting high expectations at all times

• To promote teamwork and motivate staff to ensure effective working

• To liase with Aldar Education to support the strategic development

• To deputise in the absence of the Primary Principal

• To undertake any additional responsibilities as delegated by the Primary Principal

• Promote high expectations for all students’ achievement and progress

• Recruit and select high caliber teaching and support staff

• Effectively lead the Lower School through external review and inspection


REQUIREMENTS


Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelors degree in Education or Bachelors Degree with PGCE is essential.

•      Desirable Master’s degree or NPQSL/NPQH


Minimum Experience:

• Minimum of 6 years of teaching experience

• Experience of leading whole school initiatives that have led to an improvement in standards and achievement.

• Experience of leading a school in a hybrid learning environment.

• At least 3 years’ experience in a Middle Leadership role

Candidates are expected to:

• Have a thorough and accurate understanding of the English National Curriculum and provision for the Early Years Foundation Stage

• Be innovative and can inspire high levels of academic achievement

• Demonstrate an excellent knowledge of Primary pedagogy and the English National Curriculum

• Have an excellent understanding of how to integrate technology into the classroom to enhance and extend teaching

• Be an effective communicator to a range of audiences

• Have a high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children

• Respect for all members of a school community

• Have a positive and solution-focused attitude to working life

• Have an effective and dynamic with a proven track record in school improvement; moreover, possessing real gravitas and presence within a school community

• Have a positive and solution-focused attitude to working life and a good sense of humour

About Mamoura British Academy

Al Mamoura Academy is a partly co-educational international school located in Abu Dhabi, first accepting an intake of students in 2016. The school has primary and secondary areas, with the school’s primary division being co-educational and secondary being girls-only. As a newly built school, Al Mamoura Academy is able to boast of a huge range of modern teaching and recreational facilities, such as an auditorium, a swimming pool, numerous sports courts and halls, as well as a fully equipped library and extensive IT facilities. The curriculum at Al Mamoura Academy is primarily based on the English curriculum in primary phases, whilst secondary phases offer a wider range of international qualifications including GCSEs and A-level studies as well as a US Curriculum pathway. The school also offers Arabic and Islamic studies programmes should students wish to study them.
