Available position
A permanent, full-time position as Primary school teacher in one of our Nursery to P5 classes in the French section of the European School Copenhagen.
Requirements:
- Teaching qualification is mandatory
- Native French speaker/mother tongue proficiency
- Fluent in English which is the working language at the school (oral and written)
- Proven experience in teaching the relevant age group – ages 6-11
- Outstanding commitment and ability to engage students and assist in developing their social, creative, and academic skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in international or intercultural education
- Experience in teaching all the subjects of the curriculum
- Proficient ICT skills
- Experience in language acquisition (French as first language or additional language)
- Proactive attitude to school development

About the school
European School Copenhagen (ESCPH) is a public international school under the Municipality of Copenhagen and the only of its kind in Denmark.
ESCPH opened in August 2014 with four Primary classes in an English and a Danish language section. Today the school has 17 classes from grade 0-5 in Primary and grade 1-3 in Secondary. In the coming school year, we will open further classes in Secondary and add one class to our new French section in Primary. When the school is fully phased in, the school will have nearly 1,000 pupils.
ESCPH is an accredited school within the established European School system and as such offers a European education combining the rigorous educational requirements for European Schools with Danish pedagogy and working guidelines.
In October 2018, the school moved into a brand-new state-of-the-art school building in the Carlsberg City District of Copenhagen, a few stops from Copenhagen central station.
The mission of the European Schools is to provide a multilingual and multicultural education for nursery, primary, and secondary pupils.

* Le niveau d'anglais doit permettre d'évoluer rapidement dans un environnement complètement anglophone : documentation, communication écrite et orale avec le management, les collègues et certaines familles.
* Le candidat doit être un Professeur des écoles certifié par l'éducation nationale (ou un organisme équivalent), dans le cas contraire il doit pouvoir justifier de plusieurs années d'enseignement dans le primaire.
* Le statut de l’école ne permet pas de faire une demande de détachement auprès des académies, il faut anticiper sur une demande de mise en disponibilité. Cependant le poste à pourvoir permet d'obtenir le statut de fonctionnaire de la commune.
* A ce titre, les salaires sont fixés par les régulations locales. Les détails sur l'empan salarial à l'embauche peuvent être clarifiés par les représentants syndicaux.

The European School Copenhagen is an accredited school under the internationally acknowledged system of European Schools, known for their high academic standards and declared mission to build bridges between cultures.
The school is co-educational and offers a multicultural and multilingual education for nursery, primary and secondary students, from age 5 through 19.
European Schools follow the curriculum of the European Schools system, with a strong focus on learning languages and science to a very high standard. The education leads to the internationally recognised European Baccalaureate (EB) diploma.
The school opened in 2014 and currently has around 850 pupils in nursery class to secondary 5 across three language sections - English, Danish and French. The school is still growing the French language section and will see the first Secondary 7 classes graduate in the summer of 2023. When the school is fully phased in, there will be close to 1,000 students at the school from nursery class to secondary 7.
At the completion of Secondary 7, successful students are awarded the European Baccalaureate diploma, which is an officially recognised entry qualification for higher education in all EU member states and many other countries.
Location
The school is located in the Carlsberg City district of Copenhagen, in a state-of-the-art school building completed in October 2018. The school is close to the city centre and near public transport. The exciting new learning environment includes teaching and practice rooms, an auditorium, sports hall and other facilities, including a canteen and production kitchen, where the children help with the preparation of healthy school lunches.
