Over-arching areas of responsibility: The strategic direction of the Wellington primaries, leading learning and teaching, shaping the future, working with others and developing self, leading and managing the two schools, securing accountability, and leading collaboration and community relations, line managing head of primary academy.

We offer a unique opportunity for an outstanding leader to lead across two primary schools. We are looking for someone with the vision and energy to create a world-class learning environment for both the brand new Eagles Primary Academy in Ludgershall (due to open in September 2019) and the existing Wellington Primary Academy in Tidworth, Wiltshire. 

The new academy will have capacity for up to 420 pupils and a 60 place nursery. The existing primary (built in September 2014) and has grown rapidly and expected over the next few years to have an intake of 420 pupils. 

We expect the Wellington Primary Academies to become beacons of excellence and optimism for the Tidworth community and significant progress has been made to this end already. Both the Wellington Eagles and Wellington Primary Academy is part of Wellington Collage Academy Trust and more than half of the current pupils are from military families.

Our vision for both schools is to be happy communities where everyone is valued and respects each other. We expect all members of those communities to achieve well, believe in themselves and have limitless aspirations. To deliver this vision we expect:

For this unique and exciting opportunity, we are seeking a dynamic individual with a strong track record of successful leadership in primary schools. Our Primary Cluster Headteacher will set high expectations at every level, build productive relationships and strive relentlessly to ensure all children are equipped to be successful lifelong learners.

Wellington Lions, part of the Ascend Learning Trust, is a purpose-built school based within the new housing development in NEQ (North East Quadrant) of Tidworth and caters for pupils from Reception through to Year 6.
