Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic primary practitioner, with excellent numeracy and literacy skills, to support the teaching of the children in our Y7 nurture group on the senior site, and to provide intervention support for those students that would benefit from this. This new provision will support a small group of Y7 students who are working at Key Stage 2 expectations or lower.  We need someone who is flexible and passionate about delivering quality learning experiences. The successful candidate will need to be committed to raising standards and making a significant difference to all students’ levels of attainment and wellbeing.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an inspiring and creative teacher to work in a supportive school. Alderwood School is an all-through 4 – 16 school based on 3 sites, which opens up lots of exciting opportunities for the successful candidate. We have a strong commitment to ensuring high achievement in all subjects enabling students to progress to college, university and the workplace.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a self-motivated and reflective teacher who has strong interpersonal skills and is an excellent team player. 

• Have high expectations for learning and behaviour.

• Be able to contribute to the development of schemes of work for the nurture provision.

• Be passionate and understand and demonstrate effective pedagogy in their teaching.

Interviews:
