Job overview
Stretching from Harwich to Shoeburyness and Saffron Walden to Canning Town, the Diocese of Brentwood spans the county of Essex and five London Boroughs. We operate no fewer than 78 primary schools, eight of which are independent, and eight secondary schools, with specialist provision for SEN students. We are committed to giving young people a stimulating learning experience within a community of faith, supported by staff, governors and parents committed to deepening their understanding of God. As our former pupil Lord Alton puts it, “If schools can mark themselves out as places where timeless values are taught, then they will be schools with a future.”
Closely supporting the development of our primary schools, you will support, advise and challenge head teachers, governors and staff via regular personal visits. Your analysis of performance data, conclusions drawn from Ofsted and Section 48 inspections and expert guidance will transform the way our schools think and work, and you will facilitate in-service training that creates distinctively Catholic responses to key issues in current educational thinking.
We will look to you to be a catalyst for far-reaching change, so you should be a seasoned school leader with deep understanding of best practice and national standards. Like us, you will be passionate about sharing your faith and ready to go the extra mile to help us deliver the best possible education. Finally, you should be a persuasive and authoritative adviser, who can think both strategically and operationally and translate some ambitious ideas into action.
The role is term time only + 15 days.
