Job overview

 PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER

Part Time

St Gregory’s Catholic School has an exciting opportunity for a part-time (FTE 0.4) qualified and experienced primary school specialist teacher to work within the Deaf Resource Base teaching Deaf children with effect from September 2019.  this is initially a fixed term one year appointment.

You may be a KS2 teacher looking to specialise in an SEN setting.  You will be working alongside the Teacher of the Deaf, predominately working with one individual child although opportunities for small group teaching will be available

Our staff in the Deaf resource team offer a highly differentiated curriculum to children with a wide range of abilities. With optimum class sizes up to 8 pupils and the assistance of a T.A. we are able to deliver personalised learning. We are totally committed to working with children with complex needs in order to raise their aspirations and achievements.

As a KS1/2 Teacher, you will provide teaching support across a range of subjects and must therefore be strong and knowledgeable in primary education. Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, committed and flexible and have a love of teaching or interest in working with Deaf students with special educational needs, including learning outside of the classroom and teaching life skills. You will want to inspire and motivate students and will not mind students who are sometimes anxious and show challenging behaviour.

Benefits of working at St Gregory’s:

A supportive and caring working environment for staff and students

Dedicated and bespoke CPD time for all staff each term

Opportunities to complete external qualifications such as Masters

Free Gym Membership

Kent Rewards Scheme
