Job overview

As a ministry of Life Church, Brisbane Christian College is a thriving learning centre, catering for Pre-Prep to Year 12, nurturing over 1170 young learners on three campuses. Our community is committed to becoming the preferred place of learning for the glory and honour of Jesus Christ.

Brisbane Christian College is dedicated to staying mission-true to its founders as a Christ-centred community that honours Jesus Christ in all we do. The College strongly emphasises holistic education by maintaining a balance between academic, co-curricular and spiritual engagement and a desire to grow our children's mission and community service opportunities.

The College is committed to an ongoing professional growth plan for all staff so that we can all journey towards becoming world-class Christian educators.

The College's Primary School has six year levels (Prep to Year 5). We are looking for an exceptional teacher who has:

  • a proven track record and a growth mindset to inspire children to reach their God-given potential as we minister in an era of innovation, creativity and servant leadership
  • a commitment to learning, being flexible and adaptable and working in a collaborative and dynamic team
  • an ability to shape a Christ-centred culture within our community.

Understanding Numeracy and Literacy programs such as RoleM, Alpha to Omega, The Literacy Collective and 6+1 Traits of Writing programs and a solid capacity to teach phonics would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will have the academic experience to progress each child's learning across all curriculum areas and the capacity to teach across all Primary School year levels. Our Prep to Year 5 teachers enjoy a two-year rotation with their class.

All teachers teach Christian Studies and actively lead the spiritual development of our children. A Primary School Teacher position description is available in the ad on our website.

High-quality educators are strongly encouraged to apply. All applicants are asked to contact the Principal, Sean Morrison, on 0424 143 518 and the Deputy Head of Campus (Primary), Robin Whig, on 0488 553 564 to have an informal conversation about the position and our community.

Commencement date: January 2025.

Applications are due by Friday, 12 April 2024.

 HOW TO APPLY:

  • Visit our website (brisbanechristiancollege.com.au) and proceed to our 'Positions available' page under 'About Us'.
  • Complete the "Application for Employment: Teaching" application form.

Brisbane Christian College is committed to safe and supportive work practices. Candidates will be subject to a teacher registration check or Blue Card screening, referee checks, identification verification and the requirement to disclose any information relevant to the candidate's eligibility to engage in activities, including children.

We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.
