Our story:

The Bridge Trust is a unique Multi Academy Trust which consists of five special schools, one mainstream school, a Training & Development Service and an Outreach Service. We are an ambitious family of schools that embraces the individuality of everyone – children and adults. We acknowledge that learning can look different for different pupils and staff, and we look to change our approach to meet the needs of the individual. The Bridge Fen Rivers is a therapeutic SEMH Special School offering full time education and therapeutic support to up to 96 children aged between 5 and 16 years old. Pupils are referred to the school by the local authority as part of their duties to arrange SEN provision.

Fen Rivers, which is part of The Bridge Trust, provides young people with specialist education in order for them to progress and succeed in sustained education or employment. We do this through high-quality therapeutic teaching and learning, based on effective relationships, that enable the achievement of life skills and meaningful qualifications. We are recruiting for:

  • Teachers to work in our alternative education provision either in our Primary or Secondary schools. You will be teaching students who have emotional and behavioural difficulties, in small groups. The work is intensive requiring flexibility, sensitivity, patience and resilience. An ability to work with and engage all students with creativity and passion towards the subject is essential.
  • You will be part of a small but effective team where communication and professionalism are paramount. The work, whilst challenging, is extremely rewarding. Primarily you will be required to teach, produce schemes of work and lesson plans. Building rapport with students/families/carers is key to this role and you will need to liaise with a variety of agencies to problem-solve student issues and barriers to learning.

In return, we can offer you:

  • Excellent professional development opportunities.
  • A supportive community and a committed team of staff that are equally determined to give students the best possible opportunities.
  • Financial Wellbeing Scheme, Employee discount schemes, Employee Assistance Programs.

Visits and discussions are welcome. Please contact Heidi.Leggett@thebridgetrust.academy to arrange this with you.
