A member of the Latin American Heads’ Conference (LAHC), International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) and the Round Square Organisation, Markham College, Lima, is one of the leading independent schools in South America.
With over 2200 pupils (3-18) and 360 staff across two campuses, the College has recently opened a new Nursery, a state-of-the-art Science Centre and world-class facilities for the Visual and Performing Arts.
The College is looking to appoint a Primary teacher from February 2019.
Candidates should hold a relevant degree, a teaching qualification and be prepared to participate fully in the academic and extra-curricular life of the College. The College is launching an exciting new addition to the curriculum from 2019 focussed on project based learning, enriching our students’ education with life skills such as problem solving, project management, critical thinking and creativity. Experience working with similar skills-based or enquiry-based curriculums would, therefore, be desirable.
Working in tandem with Nottingham University in the UK, the College also offers colleagues the opportunity to participate in the Markham Initial Teacher Training Programme (MITT Programme). This innovative one-year programme includes a week of induction with Markham College staff and members of the Faculty of Education at Nottingham University and offers local and international teachers an in-house programme of study, on-going training and mentoring leading ultimately to the award of the PGCEi for successful trainees.
Applications with a covering letter and CV of no more than two pages should be uploaded to the school’s application system (https://jobs.markham.edu.pe) as soon as possible and no later than Monday 19th November 2018.
The College has its own internationally competitive 12 point salary scale for overseas teachers ranging from US$55,218 to US$93,669 per annum, excluding allowances for posts of responsibility.
