Job overview

Doha College is a high profile leading British International School, for children aged 3-18, offering a well-balanced, all-embracing curriculum that follows the UK National Curriculum. We are also the first High Performance Learning accredited school in the world. With consistently outstanding educational achievements and excellent examination results at all levels, Doha College will be expanding over the next two years, to meet the ever increasing demand for places at the college.  Our expansion plans involve opening a brand new pioneering, 90,000m² state-of-the-art campus, which will see us grow to a 10-form primary and 10-form secondary school operating across two campuses for the residents of Qatar.  2018 has been an exciting year for Doha College, marking the beginning of the construction our new campus, which will open its doors in September 2020, just in time for our 40th anniversary celebrations.

In preparation for this significant development, Doha College would like to hear from committed and enthusiastic primary teachers, with the capacity to teach the UK National Curriculum, who might be interested in being a part of our expansion plans. If you are someone who is passionate about teaching and are looking for a new challenge, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.  We will be looking to recruit primary teachers in EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key stage 2, with the ability to apply a range of teaching strategies that motivate and encourage children to want to learn.

Doha College’s salary and benefits package is recognised as one of the best in the Middle East. Our staff receive a generous tax-free salary, a monthly accommodation allowance, an annual flight allowance and a substantial settling in allowance. We also have an effective induction programme for all new staff to support relocation. We also welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers who have relevant experience and excellent references.

A combination of old-world hospitality and cosmopolitan sophistication mean that Qatar is a country like no other and its capital Doha is a city that has something for everyone. Performances, museums and galleries make for a captivating cultural scene; city hotspots such as the busy markets and the waterfront promenade are a great way to spend a day; there is a lively night-life that means that there is plenty to do when the sun goes down; the Pearl Qatar offers luxury and elegance; there are some breath-taking areas of natural beauty and lovers of sport and adventure can enjoy numerous clubs and the arrival of the FIFA World Cup in 2022. Whether you will be looking to move with your family or to come on your own, you are guaranteed a warm welcome.

If you would like to experience Qatar’s hospitality and be a part of an exciting journey with Doha College, you can now register your interest in working with us by going to; https://www.dohacollege.com/recruitment

Applicants should upload a CV and a cover letter in one pdf file. The cover letter should clearly state what key stage you would like to be considered for and when you would be available to move to Qatar and we will contact you if your application is of interest. Candidates should be able to deliver lessons that inspire children to succeed, have a detailed knowledge of the UK National Curriculum, as well as a commitment to the pursuit of excellence in education standards.  As a Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, preparing and delivering outstanding lessons, monitoring and evaluating student achievement and contributing to the accomplishment of Doha College’s vision and mission. We are a British international school and all of our lessons are taught in English.  A high standard of written and spoken English is therefore essential.

Doha College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including reference checks with previous employers and a criminal records check.
