Founded in 2009, Myanmar International School educates girls and boys aged between three and 18. It is an all-through, independent, mainstream school, with a sixth form. At the moment, there are around 300 children on the roll at the school and approximately 40 members of staff. It is based in Yankin, Yangon, in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The board of directors of Than Lwin Aye Yar Services Co. Ltd opened the school. The school crest is blue, white and red to represent most of the flags around the world.

Values and Vision

Myanmar International School’s curriculum is split into two categories. The primary stage is taught through the British National Curriculum. The secondary stage is taught through the Cambridge international curriculum. The curriculum is well-balanced and enriching for all of the pupils. Teachers and students are encouraged to work together, in a respectful manner, to reach outstanding academic results. The school views itself as a family and the children and parents who are a part of it are expected to be proud of the establishment they are getting an education from.

The school hopes to help all students develop the skills needed to work, live and evolve in the ever changing, modern world. Children are taught to be kind, tolerant and respectful of those in the diverse society they live in. Pupils are encouraged to have a positive outlook on their academic and personal life. The hope is for students to become life-long and enthusiastic learners.
