Position Requirements | • must be able to fulfil the requirements of the Diocesan Faith Education Accreditation Policy.
• a relevant understanding of the philosophy of Catholic Education. • ability to teach in the primary curriculum area K-6. • high level knowledge of the relevant key learning area (K-6) and a proven capacity to improve student learning. • high quality classroom teaching skills in the area of ES1 - 3 which enable students with a diverse range of needs to achieve their full potential. • exemplary values and attitudes appropriate to professional practice and the intellectual, physical and social development of students. • ability to successfully implement and evaluate curriculum initiatives in accordance with curriculum and standards framework. • demonstrated capacity to reflect critically upon professional practice and commitment to ongoing professional learning. • commitment and capacity to actively contribute to a broad range of school activities as a member of the school team. • high level of communication and interpersonal skills when relating to students, parents and other teachers. |

Essential Criteria | Applicant must
• applicants will need to comply with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead - formerly the Faith Education Accreditation (FEA) Policy 2012 and will need to work towards Accreditation at Category D – Accreditation to Teach Religion. • be appropriately qualified as a four year trained primary teacher • be a practising Catholic • record current NESA and Working With Children number on application. • evidence of completion of Anaphylaxis training certificate must be supplied. St John Vianney Primary is an independent, co-educational Catholic school in Morisset, New South Wales. Situated in the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle. In 2012, Saint John Vianney celebrated 50 years as a Catholic Community.
In 1948 Morisset became a parish with Father Dominic O’Gorman who saw a need for Catholic Education in the district and a program was designed to build a new School and Convent. The Sisters of St Joseph from Lochinvar were brought in to live and work in the Parish.

Facilities
ICT facilities include smartboards and computers in all classrooms along with a bank of computers in the new library. Students are able to access the reading program Lexia and the Maths programs Smartkiddies and Mathletics.
Curriculum
There is an emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy which are further supported by a focus on ICT. These programs cater for every student. While the school has a strong sporting culture, Creative Arts has been promoted significantly, with the introduction of a specialist music teacher in Term 3.
