An exciting opportunity has now opened for an inspirational leader to join Astrea as the Principal for The Hill Academy, which is located approximately 6 miles from Barnsley in the town of Thurnscoe.
Working with the Executive Principal and Astrea’s CEO, the Principal will be responsible for ensuring the educational success of the academy within the framework of their individual academies’ strategic plans. They will provide professional leadership and management and must establish a culture that promotes excellence, equality and high expectations of all pupils, whilst contributing to the success of all children within the Astrea family.
The Hill Primary Academy is a larger than average primary school (with 460 pupils on roll, including nursery). The school is 2 form entry, with children from 0-11 years old. In May 2016 the school became part of Astrea Academy Trust and has since benefited from having regular access to support and guidance from highly skilled and experienced Education specialists within the Trust’s central team.
We are in the process of undertaking transformational change at The Hill Primary Academy; we are on a journey from Special Measures to Good, with a strong school improvement trajectory. You have a chance to play an integral part in this change, where you will be able to develop your skills and be a part of something special over the coming years.
The successful candidate will be capable of working collaboratively with colleagues, parents and key stakeholders including the local authorities and Ofsted. If you are motivated by helping to create a culture of constant improvement, and if you are seeking to improve outcomes for young people then we would love to hear from you.
Astrea Academy Trust is committed to high quality professional development and career opportunities for all staff, we are also passionate about cultivating our own talented workforce.
