Job overview

Where extraordinary success is possible.

Richard Rose Morton Academy is part of United Learning, with a mission to bring out ‘the best in everyone’ and improve the life chances of the children and young people in their care.

As a member of our Cumbrian cluster, the academy has been transformed since joining the Group in 2014, which followed a significant period of underperformance. The academy is now securely Good, working closely with its sister academy, Richard Rose Central, which has been similarly transformed. Both schools share a Sixth Form, housed at Central Academy.

Whilst rightly proud of the achievements made, we are now looking for an experienced and inspirational leader to drive the school forwards. This is an excellent opportunity to combine the autonomy of running your own school whilst benefitting from close collaboration across a growing, successful regional cluster within a national MAT, emphasising shared practice and CPD.

Morton is a thriving school in a modern, state of the art building and plays an important role in its community. Alongside significant improvement, parental and student ambition have grown to share our vision that every lesson, every day provides an excellent experience.

As Principal, you will model daily what outstanding looks like, demonstrate commitment to the school and community, alongside expertise and enthusiasm for education and the difference it makes to the lives of young people.

Situated within Cumbria, a short distance from both the Lake District and the Scottish Borders, the academy combines the challenges and potential of an inner-city school with lifestyle advantages of one of the most glorious parts of the country.

If you are looking for a highly rewarding role within a Group offering strong commitment to professional development, and are committed to improving the lives of young people, we encourage you to visit us.
