Do you have clear vision, excellent leadership skills and high levels of enthusiasm? Would you relish the challenge of taking a College on the threshold of outstanding and securing its position in the top 10% of Sixth Form Colleges nationally?
We are a highly successful Sixth Form College and the largest A-level provider in Hull, East Yorkshire. Many of our students travel significant distances to Wyke due to our excellent results, supportive staff and fully re-developed campus as well as the ethos and values we all support. We have nearly 2000 students and 200 staff and offer a broad curriculum. Our current ALPS value-added scores are 3 for A-level and 2 for BTEC. Wyke is a friendly place to work where staff put the student first and everything is targeted towards making their experience here a fantastic one.
Our current Principal is retiring after 7 years in post and we seek a new Principal to lead the College on its continued journey of success. We would expect our next Principal to have significant senior management experience in this or a very similar education sector and proven experience of raising achievement in their previous roles. As mentioned above, vision, leadership skills and enthusiasm are crucial characteristics in this role. Being able to demonstrate excellent judgement, high levels of data literacy, and highly developed communication skills are also key.
We believe this is a great opportunity to work with friendly, highly motivated colleagues, a supportive Corporation, and of course a great group of students to make a real difference.
We would welcome visits from prospective candidates prior to the interview date if they wish to look around our College and chat informally to the current Principal.
Safeguarding is taken very seriously at Wyke, offers of employment will be made subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service clearance and other pre-employment checks.
