Professional Specification:

• Bachelor’s degree and Qualified Teacher Status

• Master’s degree in Education (desirable but not essential)

• Leadership experience (desirable but not essential)

• Up-to-date knowledge and experience with the British national and Cambridge curriculum 

• Minimum of 5 years’ successful and relevant experience in international education

• Ability to adapt to a variety of cultures and generate new and innovative ideas in support of recruiting students

• Evidence of relevant continuous Professional Development

• Collaborative leadership style, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Flexible and adaptable to change, growth and development

Quality Learning and Standards:

• Enable teachers to lead learning that meets individual students’ needs.

• Create a learning environment within the school that puts learning and achievement at the heart of all the school does.

• Ensure the UK/Cambridge curriculums are implemented effectively, focusing on innovation and design.

• Establish challenging but realistic learning targets that add value to the student and enable him/her to reach his/her goals, both academic and personal.

• Ensure that students’ personal development is effectively promoted through the breadth of the curriculum, extracurricular learning opportunities, and other activities.

• Ensure the school analyses data thoroughly to both monitor student improvement and set suitable student targets that are challenging but achievable.

• Analyze the needs of the market and take steps to ensure the school remains competitive.

• Play an active and effective role in the recruitment and retention of students.

Resources and Budget: 

• Ensure the efficient and effective use of resources (teachers, facilities, and materials) in delivering educational excellence.

• Take necessary steps to manage risk.

• Ensure all budgets are managed correctly.



Strategic Planning and Vision:

• Lead the creation and implementation of the school’s vision and mission in accordance with its overarching guiding statements.

• Work with the school’s Management Team (GSE) to ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of its strategic plans.

• Appoint staff with the appropriate skills and knowledge and manage their performance through the provision of appropriate induction, training, support, and performance management systems.

• Ensure the school promotes the well-being of the staff to maximise their professional contribution and satisfaction.

• Meet statutory responsibilities regarding health and safety and other relevant employment legislation.

• Ensure the school communicates regularly with parents, informing them of their children’s performance and ensuring an effective partnership with our parent community.

• Enable effective two-way communication throughout the school, ensuring effective sharing of information to staff, students, parents, and the school’s Management Team.  


Responsibilities:

The Principal has overall responsibility for the leadership, organization and management of the Day Care Program, Primary School, and Secondary School at Kingsgate International School to ensure delivery of:


  • A strategic vision and inspiring leadership across the school.
  • A plan for the growth of pupil numbers.
  • An excellent learning environment clearly shows a commitment to effective learning opportunities and a learning environment that meets the needs of students, staff, and parents' expectations.
