The successful applicant will be an experienced and inspirational Principal, confident and capable of leading an already successful academy to higher levels of performance, and delivering a breadth of opportunities and experiences for a highly aspirational and demanding staff and student body, as part of an equally aspirational and engaged local community.
With a belief that there can be no ceiling on student achievement and a passion for equality, the next Principal of George Spencer Academy will bring strategic direction and professional credibility, and most importantly, articulate and deliver a clear vision for the school and community for the future. The Principal will lead their own school with the full support of a strong collegiate Trust team, an effective local governing body and a Board of Directors, all of whom have an unshakeable shared belief that the children and young people of the George Spencer Community deserve a world-class education.

George Spencer Academy is based in Stapleford, Nottingham and is over-subscribed with approximately 1500 students aged 11-18, with the possibility of further expansion.
We have a national reputation for providing high quality education for students of all abilities, which has been consistently recognised in Ofsted inspections, most recently rated outstanding in 2010 and again in 2015. We were also one of the first Teaching schools in the country, run a highly successful SCITT , are the lead school for the East Midlands West Maths Hub and a designated World Class School. As the lead professional, you will need to take an outward facing approach, connecting every facet of the academy to the local and regional community including being the representative at key educational and community platforms
