Job overview

Do you have the highest expectations for every member of the school community?

Are you able to win hearts and minds with your inspirational vision for school improvement?

Are you passionate about high-quality teaching and learning?

Do you have interpersonal, communication and leadership skills of the highest order?

Do you have the experience, skills, insights and determination to lead this ambitious school from good to outstanding?

If you can answer yes to these five questions, we would love to hear from you.

We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead Oxford Spires Academy following the appointment of the current Principal to a second headship within another Multi-Academy Trust.

Over the past decade, Oxford Spires has been transformed and is now a popular, successful and continually improving school, which has been graded as good in two successive Ofsted inspections (2013 and 2017). The school’s roll has increased by 50% over recent years, thanks to its increased popularity and profile, and it is now oversubscribed. Behaviour and attitudes, the focus on quality first teaching, the professional development opportunities provided for staff and the growing Sixth Form are among the Academy’s many impressive features. Five Year 13 students have received Oxbridge offers this year and a culture of high aspirations for all permeates every aspect of the Academy’s diverse community.

Oxford Spires Academy is part of Anthem Schools Trust, a multi-academy trust serving over 8,000 children and young people in 16 schools across the East Midlands, London and the Thames Valley.

We are looking to appoint a Principal with a proven track record at either Principal or Deputy Principal level. As a senior leader in our organisation, the post-holder would be expected to embrace Anthem’s values of integrity, collaboration and excellence and work closely with other schools across the Trust, whilst enjoying the autonomy to further develop the Academy’s distinctive ethos.

In addition to a competitive salary, we provide high-quality leadership coaching and professional development and the opportunity to play a key role in a dynamic and ambitious multi-academy trust. We would also consider a relocation package for the right candidate.

To discover more about this exciting opportunity, please see the candidate information pack under supporting documents below.
