Responsible to: On a day to day basis, the postholder reports to the Executive Director of School Improvement. The Chief Executive has overall responsibility for the post.
We are seeking an inspirational, strategic leader to realise our vision for Hastings; to achieve outstanding status and to improve the standards, attainment and aspirations of all its pupils. Based in Hastings, East Sussex, The Hastings Academy is a modern and innovative school with state-of-the art facilities having been newly built in 2003. We have approximately 900 pupils and the highest expectations of each and every child. The Academy also hosts a special facility for eight young people with speech, language and communication difficulties.
This is a fantastic time to join The Hastings Academy. In January 2018 we achieved a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted with ‘outstanding’ for leadership and management. Our pupils, parents and staff are proud of this achievement and it underlines what an exciting time it is to be part of our Academy. About The Hastings Academy
The Hastings Academy is a co-educational secondary school for students aged 11-16, located in Hastings, East Sussex. It first opened its doors in 1952 as a secondary school for girls called Hillcrest. In the early 2010s it changed its name and moved to a new purpose-built site.
The Hastings Academy is a smaller-than-average secondary school with around 900 pupils. It is part of the Hastings Academy Trust, a multi-academy trust that operates a number of schools across the region, at both primary and secondary level.
