St Thomas’ is an outstanding primary school situated in the village of Upper Tean, close to Cheadle, Staffordshire. It has 223 students on roll and is one of the six primary schools working within The Painsley Catholic Academy. The school has a very positive ethos where staff, pupils, parents, Directors and parish work well together.  

This is an exciting opportunity for a practising Catholic who will have the vision, experience and leadership skills to build upon the school’s excellent standards throughout the curriculum.  This position offers a unique opportunity to work as a member of a highly successful, supportive and outstanding school. This vacancy has arisen due to the planned retirement of the current Principal, Mr T Wretham, who has given 22 years of service and outstanding leadership to The Painsley Catholic Academy.   

The successful candidate will be an exemplary teacher, sharing excellence and expertise in the development of staff, be an excellent communicator and have a strategic vision of maintaining and raising standards.  All Principals are fully supported within a highly successful Multi-Academy company of seven schools.
