About the role


We are seeking a Relief Finance Officer to assist the Business Manager on a casual basis with a wide variety of financial and facilities administrative tasks.
Under the direction of the Business Manager, you will assist with financial administration activities and provide support to ensure the school delivers on key reporting deadlines.

Typical duties performed include (but not limited to):

  • answering fee enquiries
  • processing of receipts from families
  • management of payment plans
  • reconciliation of accounts
  • cashier and banking duties
  • accounts payable invoice processing and payments
  • data entry
  • report preparation
  • raise and reconcile miscellaneous invoices
  • assisting the Business Manager and Assistant Business Manager with end of month and end of year reconciliations and procedures
  • office duties assigned as appropriate by the Business Manager, Assistant Business Manager and Principal.
  • Facilities Administration (i.e. keys management, handling maintenance requests)

About you:
  • ideally, you will have previous experience in an accounts or finance role
  • you will demonstrate initiative, attention to detail and be a skillful negotiator who is able to liaise with the school's clients with empathy
  • applicants currently studying a degree in Accounting, Finance or Management will be highly regarded
  • you will be highly organised and be able to demonstrate sound judgement, confidentiality and discretion
  • experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and the BCE Finance system D365 is desirable

Specialist training in finance software will be provided.

To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:

  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.

Position tenure:  Casual

Weeks worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Total Paid Hours (per week) & days required: Casual as required

Salary level, range or hourly rate: School Officer Level 4 - $41.90 per hour plus Super

Employment conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement
