Who is eligible?  To be considered for the retraining course, you will need to have Qualified Teacher Status by the time you commence employment with us in September 2018.  Ideally, candidates will have a Degree in Sports Science (or similar) and/or a strong A Level grade in Science to use as a foundation for subject knowledge, but we are receptive to receiving applications if you do not meet these exact criteria as we can tailor the course to suit you. 

Details of the course:  Candidates who are successfully enrolled onto the course will be offered fixed term or permanent employment as a Teacher of Science in the respective academy (which will be discussed in detail).  You will receive one-to-one mentoring from a subject specialist and broader training every Wednesday afternoon during CPD sessions.  You will also be eligible to receive the support of our highly knowledgeable and skillful Directors of Improvement for Science who operate across the Trust.  Initial training will focus on Key Stage 3 and 4 course content, exam moderation, practical techniques and health and safety (with a focus on the KS4 core practicals).

How to apply:  All we require at this stage is for you to fill in a few details so that we can make contact with you and upload an up-to-date copy of your CV so that we can get a full understanding of your experience, your teacher training programme and your other relevant qualifications.  Our Talent Team will then make contact with you with 48 hours of registering your details to discuss what we have to offer, current opportunities across our 17 academies or those that may be available in due course.
