Scale 4 spinal points 7-11 £20,092 to £21,748 (pro rata for term time only)

Actual salary £17,567 to £19,015 per year (dependent upon experience)

We have a new and exciting key post of Rowing Coach in our dynamic and progressive outstanding academy.  This new role provides an opportunity to be fully involved in our rowing provision. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Rowing to coach both beginner and competitive students for boys in Years 7 to 11 and to students in our mixed sixth form. You will be joining one of the leading schools in the United Kingdom. We are regularly ranked amongst the top 50 state schools nationally.

This is a full time role during term time with an expectation to work Saturday’s throughout the year.  The post is fixed term to deliver a project.

Duties will include:

• Supporting with the overall running of the rowing provision on site at school, at our facility at Powells Pool, Sutton Coldfield and at races and events in the school calendar

• Assisting with equipment required at events

• Assisting with day to day administration of the rowing club

• Undertaking health and safety responsibilities including risk assessments and administering basic first aid

• Leading afternoon games sessions and after school rowing sessions.

Do you have:

• A high level of competency in rowing or experience in a similar coaching role?

• Sound knowledge of rowing and sculling techniques and the ability to demonstrate key aspects of rigging?

• The ability to undertake basic boat maintenance and repair?

• A commitment to the safeguarding and wellbeing of students?

• The RYA Level 2 powerboat qualification and a British Rowing qualification, or willing to undertake these qualification?

• Able to converse at ease with parents/students and members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English?
