Message from Headteacher

Larkrise is a special place for both its children, staff and the wider community.  We are a vibrant and caring school, within the city of Oxford, which proudly reflects the diversity of our community. Our new Headteacher joined the school in January 2020 and in the first term, we have worked to develop our new Mission, Vision and Values. These will be used to shape our journey in seeking excellence in all that we do.  Our main focus of improvement will be to provide a world-class curriculum with high expectations of every child and within which wellbeing is nurtured and learning is limitless. A curriculum that inspires through creativity, kindness and adventure.

It is an exciting time for Larkrise Primary School. In February 2019 we joined the River Learning Trust (RLT). The RLT is a Multi-Academy Trust responsible for a number of schools and a school-centred initial teacher training provider (SCITT) within Oxfordshire; the schools and SCITT are united by their commitment to the principles of the Trust and a common belief in the benefits of everything that is gained by working together.  Information about the growing River Learning Trust by visiting www.riverlearningtrust.org .

Being part of RLT gives the school opportunities to work more closely with a diverse range of schools which will benefit both our staff and children. The Trust schools are also involved in working with Oxfordshire Teaching School Alliance (OTSA) which provides further access to support and development opportunities. Larkrise is a strategic partner school within OTSA (Click here for more information).

The school serves one of the most diverse and international cities in the UK. Our children come from a wide range of economic and cultural backgrounds. They speak a number of different languages, at the last count we had twenty different languages spoken at the school. We believe that this diverse and vibrant catchment of East Oxford should be celebrated and be reflected in our curriculum.

Are you currently a Teaching Assistant, NQT or an experienced teacher looking for an exciting challenge? Would you like to work in a school that has a new Mission, Vision and Values and is striving for excellence? Do you want a role where you will be making a difference in children’s lives and their future? Larkrise Primary School needs an excellent Teacher with vision and a passion for working with children within primary education.

Do you have a proven track record of working effectively with children? Can you motivate and support children to learn? Can you work with the Larkrise team to provide an excellent education? If so, we can offer the right candidate enthusiastic children, staff and committed PTA (Friends of Larkrise) and Governors. Our leaders are ambitious for the staff, children and wider school community and are committed to your continued professional development and learning. Visit our website for more information about the school. https://www.larkriseprimary.org/

We would love to hear from you.

Jon Gray (Headteacher)
