Job overview

B11 has been operating for nearly 10 years and has a proven track record of supporting school improvement across England. As part of our growth plans for the next four years, we are expanding our range of services to meet the changing needs of education establishments across the country. We require school-based practitioners to undertake assignments with / on behalf of us, to work collaboratively with our customers and support school improvement.

Why lend us your staff?

We will provide generous financial compensation to schools lending their staff for these part-time assignments. We will also cover any additional travel/subsistence costs for your staff member while they work with us. The professional development experience they gain from working in other schools, developing the skills of other people and seeing what works elsewhere, can all be brought back to support their work in your school too. In addition, for every three days of time that you release your staff, we will provide a consultant to support your school for one day, if required.

Roles available:

Heads of Department and Specialist Leaders of Education

Are you an SLE or Head of Department looking to share your expertise with others? Then we want to hear from you.

· Visit schools across England

· Support other specialists and share good practice

· Receive training and mentoring in providing school improvement support to others

We need specialists in a range of subjects and aspects of leadership to support other schools. We have regular requests for English, maths and science specialists and a range of other subjects; we can also place specialists in teaching and learning, curriculum development, pupil progress, safeguarding, closing the gap and more.

National Leaders of Education / Governance

Could you support school leaders to develop their skills and capacity to lead and manage their own establishment?

· Support / mentor new and less experienced leaders to develop their skills

· Work alongside other colleagues to build capacity or work on specific projects within their school

· Work alongside governing bodies to build their skills to support and challenge their own school

We provide support to schools by deploying individuals with excellent leadership skills to assist schools.

Experienced School Inspectors

Would you like to provide independent, external validation and developmental support to leaders at all levels? We need these skills for deployment across England.

· Use your inspection experience to build the capacity of school leaders by working collaboratively and in a developmental manner

· Develop leadership capacity by leading peer reviews of schools / academies and recommending actions that respond to the strengths and areas for improvement identified

· Conduct pupil premium or safeguarding reviews, support governors with Head Teacher Performance Management or provide external reviews of governance.

Our focus is to provide independent, external validation of quality assurance documentation such as their SEF / SDP and developmental support to leaders at all levels. Much of our work involves conducting whole-school and subject/aspect heath checks to support school improvement. If you have school inspection experience and would like to use this to support more schools, join our database ready for deployment in education establishments across the country.

To apply for any of the above positions, please submit your CV and cover letter to Mark Allison, Head of Operations at enquiries@b11.co.uk

Person specification

We are looking for individuals who are incisive, reflective and even handed. You will need excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver challenging messages in a sensitive manner as well as write clearly, concisely and constructively. Whether you are looking for a chance to share your skills outside your local network, you wish to explore the opportunities of consultancy, or would relish more regular engagements, we want to discuss these with you.

In return, B11 Education will provide support to you to develop your career, as well as supporting your school while you are working with us. We will provide all necessary training and connect you with other professionals through our own portal.

At B11 Education we are committed to understanding and providing exactly what you want to achieve as educational institutions. You are focused on ensuring pupils get the very best start in life and you aim to do this by providing a safe, supportive and successful learning environment, where each individual can maximise their potential. You obviously want to do this in full compliance with the statutory guidance provided by the Department for Education without overburdening your staff with unnecessary pressures and increased workload. We constantly monitor the changes that are coming from the Department for Education and Ofsted, so that we can provide the support that you need, in line with the very latest guidance.

We at B11 put wellbeing of your students and staff at the centre of all that we do, even when we have to deliver hard to hear messages. We provide much needed external expertise and objectivity to support you in achieving what you want for your students. We are happy to bear some of the load where you do not have the time or specific expertise to do everything that is required of you.

B11 offers excellent value for its exceptionally high quality services which are rated very highly by all the stakeholders we work with. We only deploy highly trained professionals who have a wealth of senior management experience as headteachers, Ofsted inspectors, local authority school improvement officers, NLE, SLE and HMI. They have a proven track record and have been recruited for their unique abilities to provide bespoke support to schools and teachers as well as their professional expertise in school improvement. Our clients most value B11 for providing rigorous, objective, external support and challenge, and for providing clear guidance regarding what to do when improvements are required.
