This is an exciting opportunity for a priest in the Anglican tradition to work in this unique school, which works in symbiosis with a remarkable cathedral with which it is connected through history, governance and routine practice.
The Chaplain reflects and leads spirituality and worship in the community and is pastor and friend to all members of the school community: pupils, teachers and the large number of support staff (bursarial, grounds, maintenance and secretarial). The overall immediate community numbers about 1,000.
Wells Cathedral School has a Christian foundation and ethos. It must be home to those of the Christian faith, of other faiths and of none. The Chaplain must support and lead the Head of the school, its senior executive and the whole community in understanding how this home is created and developed for the benefit of all.
