Job overview

Rushbury is a happy school with a friendly staff. We are looking to employ a cook to manage and prepare ours school lunches. We currently serve approximately 30 lunches per day. Lunches are served between 12.00 and 1.00pm. Training available if required (food hygiene and preparation).

The postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day provision of Rushbury School meals. To be accountable to the headteacher.

Key Responsibilities and tasks

  • To purchase/order food for meals within an agreed budget
  • To prepare and cook food
  • To serve meals
  • To set up and clear away the dining room area.
  • To clean the kitchen and/or dining area.
  • To plan menus (with assistance from the headteacher).
  • To maintain correct records of food stocks and equipment.
  • To undertake training as required.
  • To ensure that all health and safety policies are adhered to.
